Medway Call for Sites

The Government expects Medway Council to carry out a comprehensive review of land that maybe available for development, this is to help Medway's growth needs over the coming years  (up to 2040)

An Application will need to be submitted by Tuesday 28 February 2023 at 11:59pm.

Medway are reviewing potential sites for development in their emerging Local Plan.

An up-to-date assessment of land availability is needed as part of the plan-making process. A call for sites is an important information-gathering exercise as part of the assessment of land availability.

Medway call for sites  is for all land uses - not just housing. It includes:

• employment and commercial
• waste management
• mineral supply
• plots or pitches for Gypsies, Travellers and travelling show people.

All sites should be capable of delivering 5 or more dwellings or economic development on sites of 0.25 hectares (or 500 square metres of floorspace) and above. Sites for the extraction of sand and gravel (quarries) and landfilling waste are also sought.

Sites submitted through a previous call for sites and considered in earlier versions of the Medway Strategic Land Availability Assessment (SLAA) must be resubmitted.
